-SwitchtheUVlight(13)onbypressingthe
button(12).
-ToswitchtheUVlight(13)off,pressthe
button(12)again.
-Positionthejigsawoverthecuttingline(19).
Viewing from directly above the jig saw,
thelineofcutwillbeilluminated(20)bythe
UVlight(13)andcanbeeasilyfollowed.
Highlighter Pen Storage (gure I)
-Thehighlightermarkingpen(14)storesin
thepenholder(15).
-Thepenholder(15)canbeopenedand
attachedanywhereonthecord(21)asshown
in gure I.
-Tomovethepenholder,unlockthehinge
and open the holder.
-Removefromcordandplaceanywhereup
or down the cord.
NOTE: Should you need to replace the
highlightermarkingpen(14)itcanbe
replaced with a standard yellow highlighter
found at office supply stores (fine tip
recommended).
Connecting a vacuum cleaner to the tool
Ahoseadapter(notsupplied)isavailable
at extra cost through your nearest Black
&Deckerservicecenter.Insertthehoseadapterintotheopeningatthebackofthesaw.
Connectavacuumcleanerhose(notsupplied)tothehoseadapter.
Hints for optimum use
Sawing laminates
As the saw blade cuts on the upward stroke, splintering may occur on the surface closest
to the shoe plate.
-Useafine-toothsawblade.
-Sawfromthebacksurfaceoftheworkpiece.
-Tominimizesplintering,clampapieceofscrapwoodorhardboardtobothsidesofthe
workpiece and saw through this sandwich.
Sawing metal
-Beawarethatsawingmetaltakesmuchmoretimethansawingwood.
-Useasawbladesuitableforsawingmetal.
-Whencuttingthinmetal,clampapieceofscrapwoodtothebacksurfaceofthe
workpiece and cut through this sandwich.
-Spreadafilmofoilalongtheintendedlineofcutforeasieroperationandlongerblade
life. For cutting aluminum, kerosene is preferred.
WARNING: Fire Hazard. Do not use vacuum adapter when cutting metal. Metal
filings are hot and may cause a fire.
