CLS Clear Status
Syntax:

CLS
Description:
The
*
CLS command clears the following status data structures:
1. Clears all Event Status Registers, such as the following:
- Standard Event Status Register (
*
ESR?)
- Status Byte Register (
*
STB?)
- Operation Event Status register (STATus:OPERation:EVENt)
- Questionable Event Status Register (STATus:QUEStionable:EVENt)
2. Clears the Error/Event Queue.
3. Cancels the effect of the
*
OPC command and the
*
OPC? query; any request
for the OPC flag is cancelled.
Note: When the
*
CLS command is entered as the first command in a new pro-
gram message, it also clears the Output Queue and as a consequence,
the MAV-bit in the Status Byte Register.
Example:
Send
→ *CLS Clears the status data.
