1. Remove the power supply (11). See Power
Supply Removal and Replacement, page 43.
2. Remove the alternator (15)
from the power supply. See
Alternator Removal and Replacement, page 44.
3. Measure resistance from the power supply's
ground strips (EE) to the spring (11a). The
resistance should be:
60–85 megohms for 40kV guns
86–110 megohms for 60kV guns
130–160 megohms for 85kV guns
4. If outside this range, replace the
power supply. If in range, go to
Test Electrode Resistance, page 32.
5. If you still have problems, refer to
Electrical Troubleshooting, page 35 for
other possible causes of poor performance, or
contact your Graco distributor.
6. Be sure the spring (11a) is in place before
reinstalling the power supply.

Resistance
Remove the electrode (3). See
Electrode Replacement, page 39. Measure
the resistance between the contact (HH) and the
electrode wire (GG). The resistance should be 8-30
megohms. If out of range, replace the electrode.
NOTE:NOTE:
NOTE:
If the gun resistance is still out of range after
testing the power supply and electrode:
Check that the conductive o-ring (4a) is making
contact with the barrel pin.
Check that the power supply spring (11a) is making
contact with the barrel pin.
