GENERAL
MAINTENANCE
Onlythepartsshownonpartslist,page 15,areintendedto
be repairedor replaced by the customer. All otherparts
representanimportantpartofthedoubleinsulationsystem
and shouldbe servicedonly by a qualifiedSearsservice
technician.
Avoid usingsolventswhen cleaningplasticparts. Most
plasticsare susceptibleto various types of commercial
solventsand may be damaged by their use. Use clean
clothstoremovedirt,carbondust,etc.
When electdctoolsare used on fiberglassboats,sports
cars, wallboard,spacklingcompounds,or plaster,it has
been foundthattheyare subject to acceleratedwearand
possiblepremature failure, as the fiberglasschips and
grindings are highly abrasive to bearings, brushes,
commutator,etc. Consequently,itisnotrecommendedthat
thistoolbeusedforextendedworkonanyfiberglassmaterial,
wallboard,spacklingcompounds,or plaster. Duringany
useon fiberglassit is extremelyimportantthatthe toolis
cleanedfrequentlybyblowingwithan airjet.
PROPER CARE OF CU'I'FERS
Getfastermore accuratecuttingresultsbykeepingcutters
cleanandsharp.Removeallaccumulatedpitchandgumfrom
cuttersaftereachuse.
Acuttersharpeningkit (ItemNo.9-66501) is availablefrom
SearsRetailStores.
When sharpening cutters, sharpen only the Inside of the
cuffingedge. Never gdnd the outside diameter. Be sure when
sharpening the endofa cuttertogrindthe clearance angle the
same as originally ground.
LIGHT BULB REPLACEMENT
See Figure 14.
1. UNPLUG YOUR ROUTER.
2. Removecutterfrommuter.
3. Adjustmutertomaximumheight.
4. Removescrews (A) and subbase(B). See Figure14.
5. Removescrew(C) and worklightlens(D).
6. Withbulb(E) pointingtowardyou,pushbulbinandturn
to the left to remove from bulbsocket. NOTE: Light
bulbremovaland installationissimilarto removingand
installinga standardautomotivebulb.
7. Installnewbulbbyreversingtheaboveprocedure.
8. Reassembleall partsand tightenscrews securely.
PROPER CARE OF COLLET
From timetotime, italsobecomesnecessarytocleanyour
colletandcolletnut.To doso,simplyremovecolletnutfrom
colletandcleanthedustandchipsthathavecollected.Then
returncolletnuttoitsoriginalposition.
LUBRICATION
Allofthebearingsinthistoolare lubricatedwitha sufficient
amountof highgradelubricantfor the lifeoftheunitunder
normaloperatingconditions.Therefore,nofurther lubrica-
tionisrequired.
