OPERATION
WRENCH STORAGE AREA
Yourrouterhasa wrenchstoragearea locatedonthe top
endcap portionof the motorhousing. When installingor
removingcuttersremovethewrenchfromitsstoragearea.
Properstorageofwrenchwhennot in usewillhelpreduce
thepossiblilityoflosingwrench. See Figure 1.
INSTALLING/REMOVING CUTTERS
SeeFigure2.
1. UNPLUGYOUR ROUTER.
2. Removedustbagfrom muter.
3. Removeoneofthe clearplasticchipshieldsfromrouter.
To remove,pressontabsand pulloutward.
4. A spindlelock is located on the front of the motor
housing.See Figure 1.To activatelock,pushspindle
lockinand slideintolockposition.

Placeyourmuterupsidedownontable,thenturncollet
nutwith wrenchuntil lockmechanismInterlocks.See
Figure2. NOTE: Spindlelockisspdngloadedandwill
snapintopositionwhen lockmechanisminterlocks.
CHIP SHIELD
Clear plasticchipshieldsare installedon the baseofyour
routerforprotectionagainstflyingdustand chips.The chip
shieldsaredesignedtofitthefrontand rearopeningsofthe
routerbase. See Figure1. Ifnecessarytoremove,squeeze
tabs on eachend and pull outward.To replace,squeeze
tabsat eachend, fit intothe opening,then release. FOR
YOUR PROTECTION DO NOT USE ROUTER WITHOUT
CHIPSHIELDS PROPERLY IN PLACE.

Do not connect router to powersupply before Installing
duet beg or connecting itto • dust collection system.
6. Removecuttersby tumingcolletnutcounterclockwise
enoughto allow cutter to slip easilyfrom collet. See
Figure2. Thecollarismachinedtoprecisiontolerances
tofit cutterswith114in. diametershanksize.
7. Withyourmuterstillupsidedownon table, insertshank
ofcutterintocollet.The shankofyourcuttershouldbe
closetobutnottouchingbottomofcollet.
8. Tightenthecolletnutsecurelybyturningclockwisewith
the wrenchprovided. See Figure2. Put spindlelock
back in unlock position. Otherwise, the interlocking
mechanismofthe spindlelockwillnotletyouturnyour
muteron.
9. Installdustbag.
TO INSTALL BAG: ,
The dustbagehouldbeinstalledbyslippingitwitha twisting
moUonovertheblowerexhaust.The bagshouldbeinstalled
withthezipperdownwhenrouterisinupdghtposition.
The bag shouldbe emptiedwhen halffull.
TO EMPTY BAG:
Remove bagfromrouter,openzipperand shakeoutdust.
Occasionallyturn the dust bag insideout and brushthe
accumulationof dustfromthe insideof the bag. This will
permitthe airtoflowthroughthe bag better.
