The blade guides provide side-to-side support
to help keep the blade straight while cutting.
The blade guides are designed to be adjusted in
two ways—forward/backward and side-to-side.
Properly adjusted blade guides are essential to
making accurate cuts.
To adjust the upper and lower blade guides
:
1. Make sure that the blade is tracking properly
and that it is correctly tensioned.
2. DISCONNECT BANDSAW FROM POWER!
3. Familiarize yourself with the blade guide con-
trols shown in
Figure 22.
4. Loosen the thumbscrew on the forward/back-
ward adjustment rod.
5. Rotate the knurled knob behind the blade
guides to position the blade guides later
-
ally, so the front edges of the bearings are
just behind the blade gullets as illustrated in
Figure 23.
6. Tighten the thumbscrew on the lateral adjust-
ment rod so the knurled knob will not turn.
7. Use a hex wrench to loosen the cap screws
behind the blade guides.
8. With a hex wrench, rotate the cap screws in
the center portion of the blade guides to posi
-
tion the bearings so they make very light con
-
tact on both sides of the blade as illustrated in
Figure 24.

NOTICE
