Adjusting Gibs
3. Repeat Steps 1-2 with the outfeed table gib
control (
Figure 74).
The function of the table gibs is to eliminate
excessive play in the table movement. The gibs
also control how easy it is to move the tables.

To adjust the table gibs:
1. Using an adjustable wrench, loosen the
infeed table gib nut under the rear of the table
(Figure 73).
2. Using an 8mm hex wrench, tighten the gib
setscrew a small amount, then check the
table by moving it up and down. Adjust the
set screw as needed until the friction of the
table movement is balanced between mini
-
mal play and ease of movement, then secure
the lock nut.
Note: Tighter gibs reduce play but make it
harder to adjust the tables.
