-20- G1066/G1066Z/G1079 Drum Sander
Dust Collection
The dust collection ports are located on the top of
the sanding head cover and each measures 4" in
diameter. It will be necessary to attach 4" dust
collection pipes over these ports. Flex-hose is
recommended because it will ease removal of the
sanding head cover when paper changes and
adjustments are necessary. Grizzly offers 4" flex-
hose to connect this machine to a dust collection
system. The flex-hose easily attaches with a 4"
hose clamp. Please refer to our catalog for cur-
rent price and ordering information.
Your dust collector must be able to move 450
cfm at the Drum Sander. If you have a remotely
located dust collector or you are operating more
than one machine at a time, ensure that your dust
collector has the capacity and power to meet this
requirement. A fine layer of dust will be present
on your stock as it comes out of the sander. This
is normal.
Always wear a dust mask
in addition to using a
dust collector. Dust
masks filter out the
smaller particles of dust
that dust collectors can-
not trap.
DO NOT operate the Model
G1066/G1066Z/G1079 without an adequate
dust collection system. This machine creates
substantial amounts of wood dust while in
operation. Failure to use a dust collection
system can result in short and long-term res-
piratory illness.
