Dell PowerVault 7x0N Systems — Connecting to ATM and FDDI Networks 9
'('
To configure the LECS address for your ATM adapter, use the elconfig
set
command.
Command syntax: The elconfig
set
command has the following syntax:
',%'%=.>.
ATM_address
is the ATM address of the LECS on the network.
unit_number
is the unit designator for the ATM adapter in the filer.
The following command sets the LECS address to the well-known ATM address for
the adapter in slot 2:
',%'%.>.
If the LECS on your network does not use the well-known address, specify this
address in place of “wellknown,” as shown in the following command:
',%'%
88"
Knowing the LECS address, the system can now determine all existing ELANs, as
well as the ATM address of the LES. However, the LAN Type remains unknown until
you configure the adapter to join the ELAN, which is discussed in “Configuring the
ATM Adapter for an ELAN,” found later in this document.
To check the state of all adapters in the filer, use the elconfig show command.
Command syntax: The
elconfig show
command has the following syntax:
',%-.
The abbreviated sample output (showing ELANs available through the LECS for
Adapter 2 only) from this command is as follows:
!"#$#%$$$$$$&'$
()(*
+,*(--./
"#$0$1$22'$$2'$"'%$"1'"'%$'"
32-./
"#$0$1$22'$$2'$"'%$"1'"'%$2
,*(--./
"#$0$1$22'$$2'$"'%$"1'"'%$''
