case, no configuration is necessary to activate the load balancing and failover
features.

After you successfully configure each of the ATM adapters in the filer and verify their
proper operation, you should do the following:
Save the commands in the /etc/rc file for automatic execution at boot time.
Save the host and IP address information in the /etc/hosts file for each logical
ELAN interface.
This saves you from having to reconfigure the adapters manually each time the filer is
restarted.

this, mount the root file system and edit the file using a text editor such as vi.
Example: The following is a sample portion of an /etc/rc file containing configuration
commands for three ATM adapters:

Note that in this example, both adapter 2 and adapter 3 are on the nineKMTU ELAN,
and that adapter 3 is on two ELANs.
