Disconnect the machine from the power source!
1. Take a piece of 3/4” plywood or similar piece of
wood (A) Fig. 53, at least 5” wide, and clamp it
between the table boards in place of the fence.
2. Use three 2 x 4’s (4" tall) (B) Fig. 53. Place a square
on the 2 x 4’s with one end of the square against
the plywood (A) and the other end against the saw
blade.
To check and adjust:
5. Loosen the three screws (F) Fig. 50, and the track
arm clamp handle (G).
6. To move the front of the track arm to the right,
loosen the set screw (H) Fig. 51, and tighten the
set screw (J). To move the front end of track arm to
the left, loosen the set screw (J) and tighten the set
screw (H).
7. When the cuttinghead is parallel to the square, tighten
the three screws (F) Fig. 50. Replace the miter scale (E)
Fig. 49, and replace the three screws (D). Make
certain the zero graduation mark on the scale (E)
aligns with the pointer (K).
8. Replace the blade and blade guard assembly.
Even though the cuttinghead travel may be perfectly
aligned at 90° to the fence, the blade may not be 90° or
square with the fence (Fig. 52). This condition is known
as “heeling.”
