MAINTENANCE
Clean the Air Cap and Fluid Nozzle
Equipment
needed:
Soft bristle brush (supplied)
Solvent compatible with fluid being sprayed
Procedure:
1. Follow
the
Pressure Relief Procedure W
arning
on
page
9.
2.
Remove the air cap assembly and gun shroud.
3.
Clean the air cap, fluid nozzle, and front of the
gun, using the soft bristle brush and solvent. Point
the gun down while cleaning to prevent dirty sol
-
vent from running back into the air passages. See
Fig 9 .
Do not use metal tools to clean the air cap holes
as this may scratch them, and make sure the elec
-
trode wire is not damaged. Scratches in the air cap
holes or a damaged electrode wire can distort the
spray pattern.
4. Carefully
reinstall the air cap assembly
. A
void bend
-
ing the electrode. Tighten the retaining nut until it is
snug,
allowing the air cap to turn with resistance.
