This is an extremely heavy machine. Serious
personal injury may occur if safe moving
methods are not followed. To be safe, you
will need assistance and a forklift or a hoist
when removing the machine from the crate.
Use a chain or a lifting strap with a minimum
of 1000 lbs. lifting capacity. If the chain or
lifting strap breaks, serious personal injury
may occur.
Take special care when moving this bandsaw.
Only use the following methods to lift or move this
bandsaw.
To move and place the bandsaw:
1. Use a forklift to move the bandsaw on the
pallet to its final location.
2. Unbolt the bandsaw from the pallet.
3. Install the eye bolts shown in Figure 7, mak-
ing sure they are threaded all the way in
, then
place the lifting hooks through the eye bolts
and lift slowly with a forklift
.
4. Remove the pallet and slowly set the bandsaw
into position
.

To move and place the bandsaw using wood
shims:
1. Use a forklift to move the bandsaw on the
pallet to its final location.
2. Carefully place the forklift forks under the
head and install a 1x4 shim between the head
and the left fork and a 2x4 shim between the
head and right fork so the bandsaw is level,
as shown in
Figure 8.
3. Unbolt the bandsaw from the pallet.
4. Lift the bandsaw off of the pallet, remove the
pallet, and slowly set the bandsaw into posi
-
tion.
Note:
If you are concerned about your forklift
forks hitting the tension handwheel, remove the
handwheel, then reinstall it after lifting.
