General
MAKE SURE that your machine is
unplugged during all service proce-
dures! If this warning is ignored, seri-
ous personal injury may occur.
Checking and Tensioning
V-Belts
To ensure optimum power transmission from the motor
to the blade, the V-belts must be in good condition
and operate under proper tension. The belts should be
checked for cracks, fraying, and wear. Belt tension should
be checked at least every 3 months—more often if the
bandsaw is used daily.

Checking V-Belts
1. DISCONNECT BANDSAW FROM POWER!
2. Open the wheel covers.
3. Note the condition of the V-belts. If the V-belts are
cracked, frayed, or glazed; they should be replaced.
4. Push the center of the V-belts. Note the amount of
deflection (Figure 67). If deflection is more than
3
4", tension the V-belt.
