POWERARC® 5500
FFUUEELL::
At the end of each day’s use, refill
the fuel
tank to minimize moisture condensa-
tion and dirt contamination in the fuel line.
ENGINE ADJUSTMENTS
OVERSPEED IS HAZARDOUS - The maximum
allowable high idle speed for this machine is 3750
RPM, no load. DO NOT tamper with the governor
components or setting or make any other adjust-
ments to increase the maximum speed. Severe
personal injury and damage to the machine can
result if operated at speeds above maximum.

Adjustments to the engine are to be made only by a
Lincoln Service Center or an authorized Field Service
Shop.
Do not use petroleum solvents such as kerosene
to clean the air cleaner. They may cause deterio-
ration of the air cleaner. DO NOT OIL THE AIR
CLEANER OR USE PRESSURIZED AIR TO CLEAN
OR DRY THE AIR CLEANER.

To service the pre-cleaner:
1. Wash in liquid detergent and water.
2. Squeeze dry in a clean cloth.
3. Saturate in clean engine oil.
4. Squeeze in a clean, absorbent cloth to remove all
excess oil.

ove dirt and debris with a cloth
or a
brush. Do not clean with a forceful spray of water.
Water might contaminate the fuel system.
Periodically clean the muffler area to remove com-
bustible debris.

Clean Rotating Screen: If your POWERARC® 5500 is
equipped with an engine that has a rotating screen,
you should clean it as often as needed, to remove dirt
or debris that may collect on the screen. A dirty screen
can result in engine overheating and damage. (See
Figure D.3).

nal cooling fins and surfaces to prevent over-
speeding, overheating, and engine damage. Clean
every 100 operating hours or as often as necessary.
