TO MAKE A COMPOUND CUT WITH
YOUR MITER SAW:
Pulloutthe lockpin and liftsaw armto itsfull
height.
Loosenthe miterlock handle. Rotate the miter lock
handle approximatelyone-hefttum to the leftto
loosen.
Pressthe miter lockplate downwithyourthumb
and hold.
Rotate the controlarm untilthe pointeralignswith
the desiredangleon the miterscale.
Release the miter lockplate.
Note: You can quicklylocate0", 22-1/2" leftor
right,and 45"left or dghtby releasingthe miter
lock plateas you rotatethe controlarm. The miter
lockplatewillseat itselfinone of the positive stop
notches,located inmitertable frame.
Tightenthe miterlock handlesecurely.
_IL WARNING: To avoid sedouspersonalinjury,
alwaystightenthe miterlockhandlesecurely
beforemaking a cut. Failureto do socould result
in movementofthe control armor mitertable
whilemakinga cut.
Loosenthe bevel lockknoband movethe saw arm
to the leftto the desiredbevel angle.
Bevel anglescan be set from 0"to 45".
Foryour convenience there isa doublescala
locatedon the mountingbracket.See Figure27. If
one side becomesdifficultto read as you movethe
sew arm tothe left, simplyreferto theother side.
Alignthe indicatorpoint for the side youchoose
withthe desired angle.
Once the sew arm has bean set at the desired
angle, securelytightenthe bevel lockknob.
Recheck miteranglesetting.Make a test cutin
scrap material.
Place the workplaceflat onthe miter table with
one edge securelyagainstthe fence. Ifthe board
iswarped, placethe convexside againstthe
fence. Ifthe concave edge ofa boardcould
collapse on the bladeat the end ofthe cut,
j';mmingthe blade. See Figures33 and 34.
When cuttinglongpiecesof lumberor molding,
supportthe oppositeend of the stockwitha roller
standor witha worksurfacelevelwiththe sew
table.
Alignthe cuttinglineon theworkpiecewiththe
edge of sew blade.
Grasp the stock firmlywith one hand and secureit
againstthe fence. Use the optionalworkclampor
a C-clampto securethe workpiecawhen possible.
