NOTE: Decoding that is performed in the “standard” direction considers left bars more signicant than right
bars for horizontal symbols and top bars more signicant than bottom bars for vertical symbols. Decoding is
performed in the “reverse” direction considers right bars more signicant than left bars for horizontal symbols;
bottom bars more signicant than top bars for vertical symbols.
