HYMEC-Installation
BIG Twin
Tools required:
8 mm wrench
SW 14 mm wrench
Torx wrench set
Medium-sized screwdriver
Medium-sized retaining ring pliers
Wire cutter or sharp knife
On delivery, the system is completely filled.
The system must be opened for installation.
No fluid may be allowed to escape as this
could subsequently impair the proper functio-
ning of the system. It is therefore essential
that the following installation instructions be
followed exactly. The assistance of a second
person during installation is very helpful. If
additional hydraulic fluid is required, use
only MAGURA mineral oil, available in
either 2 or 10 ounce bottles. Please note
that some custom aftermarket transmission
end covers have the groove for the side locking
pin in the 3 o'clock position as you look at
the inside of the transmission cover. You must
use a transmission end cover with the groove
at the 11 o'clock position and all other dimen-
sions, same as the OEM cover!
Instruction:
01. Drain the transmission lube and save it for re-use. Do not contaminate it with other fluids.
02. Loosen the screw of the cable on the transmission end cover, but do not remove them.
03. Remove the transmission end cover screws, remove the cover, taking care not to
damage the seal.
04. Remove the retaining ring that secures the ramp assembly. (fig. 1) Remove the
entire ramp assembly and detach the cable coupling with the cable ball end.
05. Note the routing of the cable. Unscrew the cable from the cover and place the
transmission cover on a workbench.
