Disconnect the A-Side Chain from the SC100/SC120 Expansion Enclosure
Disconnect the A-side chain from the expansion enclosure that you want to remove.
About this task
CAUTION: To disconnect the A-side chain without a system outage, disconnect the A-side cable
from
storage controller 1 first. Disconnecting a different cable in the chain may disrupt IO to the
expansion enclosure, resulting in a system outage.
Steps
1. Disconnect the A-side cable (shown in orange) between storage controller 1: port A and expansion
enclosure 1: top EMM, port A.
2. In the Dell Storage Client, verify that the B-side ports on both storage controllers are Up. The B-side
chain continues to carry IO while the A-side chain is disconnected.
3. Remove the A-side cable between expansion enclosure 1: top EMM, port B and expansion enclosure
2: top EMM, port A.
