Disconnect the B-Side Chain from the SC100/SC120 Expansion Enclosure
Disconnect the B-side chain from the expansion enclosure that you want to remove.
About this task
CAUTION: To disconnect the B-side chain without a system outage, disconnect the B-side cable
from storage controller 2 first. Disconnecting a different cable in the chain may disrupt IO to the
expansion enclosure, resulting in a system outage.
Steps
1. Disconnect the B-side cable (shown in blue) between storage controller 2: port A and expansion
enclosure
1: bottom EMM, port A.
2. In the Dell Storage Client, verify that the A-side ports on both storage controllers are Up. The A-side
chain continues to carry IO while the B-side chain is disconnected.
3. Remove the B-side cable between expansion enclosure 1: bottom EMM, port B and expansion
enclosure 2: bottom EMM, port A.
