MAKING A COMPOUND (BEVEL) MITER CUT
Sea Figure50.
Practice on scrap wood. Fromthe front ofthe sew,
pushthe wood to the blade with the mitergage. Do
not use the ripfence.
WARNING: Make sure the blade guard is
lowered overblade and isworkingproperlyto
prevent possibleinjury.
Setthe blade angle and heightbylooseningthe
bevel lock handleand turningthe heightand bevel
handwheeis. Retightenthe bevel lockhandle.
,_ WARNING: When blade is angled tothe left,
the miter gage must be onthe dghtside of the
blade. Otherwise the gage couldtrap the
workpiece,possiblycausingkickbackand
resultingin injury.
Setthe wood angle by loosening the miter gage
knoband settingitto the desiredangle.
Retightenmitergage knob.
Place a supportthe same heightas thetop ofthe
saw table behindthe saw for the cut work.
II Make surethe woodis nottouchingthe blade.
Insertthe kay and liftthe switchtothe ON position.
Letthe blade build upto full speed.
Holdthe work firmly againstthe mitergage and
pushthe miter gage to feed the workintothe blade.
When the workis completed,press the switchoff
and removethe key.
