MAKING A COMPOUND (BEVEL) MITER CUT

Practice on scrap wood. Fromthe front ofthe sew,
pushthe wood to the blade with the mitergage. Do
not use the ripfence.
WARNING: Make sure the blade guard is
lowered overblade and isworkingproperlyto
prevent possibleinjury.
• Setthe blade angle and heightbylooseningthe
bevel lock handleand turningthe heightand bevel
handwheeis. Retightenthe bevel lockhandle.
,_ WARNING: When blade is angled tothe left,
the miter gage must be onthe dghtside of the
blade. Otherwise the gage couldtrap the
workpiece,possiblycausingkickbackand
resultingin injury.
• Setthe wood angle by loosening the miter gage
knoband settingitto the desiredangle.
• Retightenmitergage knob.
• Place a supportthe same heightas thetop ofthe
saw table behindthe saw for the cut work.
II Make surethe woodis nottouchingthe blade.
• Insertthe kay and liftthe switchtothe ON position.
Letthe blade build upto full speed.
• Holdthe work firmly againstthe mitergage and
pushthe miter gage to feed the workintothe blade.
• When the workis completed,press the switchoff
and removethe key.
