GENERAL MAINTENANCE
_k WARNING: When servicing,use onlyidentical
Craftsman replacement pads. Use of any other
part may create a h_o.ardor cause product
damage.
WARNING: To prevent accidental startingthat
couldcause possibleserious personalinjury,
turn offthe saw, remove the switch key, and
unplugthe saw before workingon the table saw.
Removesawdustfrom the rails, top surface, and
inside ofsaw frequently.
Clean plastic partswith a soft damp cloth. Do not
useany strongsolvents.
_, WARNING: Do not at any time let brake fluids,
gasoline, petroleum-basedproducts,penetrating
oils, etc. contactplastic pads. They contain
chemicalsthat can damage, weaken or destroy
plastic.
Pedodicallyclean the table, rails, and dp fence with
gum and pitchremover. Do not allow pitchto
accumulate onthe saw.
Apply a thincoat of pastewax to the table top so
the woodslides easily while cutting.
Regularlycheck all nuts, bolts, screws, and belts
for tightnessand condition.Make sure the throat
plate is in goodcondition.
MOTOR / ELECTRICAL
Frequently vacuum or blowout any sawdustfrom
the motor.
_l, WARNING: If the power cordis worn, cut, or
damaged in any way, have itreplaced immedi-
ately bya qualifiedservice technicianat a Sears
store or repair center. Failureto do so could
resultin serious personalinjury.
WARNING: To avoid fireor electrocution,
reassemble electricpartswith onlyidentical
Craftsman replacement pads. Reassemble
exactly as originallyassembled.
This saw has been lubricatedat thefactory priorto
shipment.After extended use, you shouldinspect,
clean, and lubricatethe areas shown inthe drawing.
Clean before lubricatingwith a solvent recommended
for gumand pitchremoval. Lubricate with SAE no. 20
or no. 30 engine oil.
