should perform this mainte-
nance.
• Turn the input power OFF at
the disconnect switch or fuse box before working
on this equipment.
• Do not touch electrically charged hot parts.
ROUTINE AND PERIODIC MAINTE-
NANCE
1. Disconnect input AC power supply lines to the
machine before performing periodic maintenance,
tightening, cleaning, or replacing parts. See
Figure D.1.
Perform the following daily:
1. Check that no combustible materials are in the
welding or cutting area around the machine.
2. Remove the debris, dust, dirt, or materials that
could block the air flow to the machine for cooling.
3. Inspect the welding cables for any splits or punc-
tures in the cable jacket, or any condition that
would affect the proper operation of the machine.
Perform Periodically:
Clean the inside of the machine with low pressure air
stream. Clean the following parts. Refer to Figure
D.1.
• Main Transformer.
• Electrode and Work Cable connections.
• SCR rectifier bridge and heat sink fins.
• Control Board.
• Firing Board.
• Fan Assembly.
NOTE: The fan motor has sealed bearings which
require no maintenance.
