7. Enter the settings as described in the following table.
Field Description
Send alerts and logs through e-mail
Your Outgoing Mail Server Enter the name of your ISP’s outgoing (SMTP) mail server (such as
mail.myISP.com).
You might be able to find this information on the configuration page of your
email program. If you leave this field blank, the modem router cannot send
log and alert messages.
Send to
This E-mail Address Enter the email address to which logs and alerts must be sent.
Outgoing Mail Server Port
Number
Enter the port number for your ISP’s outgoing mail server. The default port
number is 25.
My mail server requires
authentication
If your ISP’s outgoing email server requires authentication, select this
check box and specify the following settings:
In the User Name field, enter the user name for your ISP’
s outgoing
email server.
In the Password
field, enter the password for your ISP’
s outgoing
email server.
Send Alert
Immediately By default, this check box is selected and email alerts are sent immediately
when someone attempts to visit a blocked site.
Send logs according to this schedule
To send logs based on a schedule, select one of the following options from the menu:
When log is full.
This is the default selection.
Hourly. Logs are sent every hour.
Daily. Logs are sent every day. From the Time
menu, specify the time of day, and select the am or pm
radio button.
W
eekly. Logs are sent every week. From the Day
menu, select the day. From the Time menu, specify
the time of day, and select the am or pm radio button.
If you do not want logs to be sent at all, select the None option from the menu.
8. Click the Apply button.
Your settings are saved.
Logs are sent automatically. If the log fills before the specified time, it is sent. After the log
is sent, it is cleared from the modem router memory. If the modem router cannot email the
log and the log buffer fills, the modem router overwrites the log.
