c. If your circuit type is Active Flow:
1. Connect the Flow Sensor to an active exhalation device as
shown below.

2. Connect the other end of the exible tubing to the active
exhalation device.
A. Connect the active exhalation device to the exible
tubing that attaches to the ventilator.
B. Connect the ow sensor to the patient interface (e.g.,
the tracheostomy tube).

Note: If the active exhalation
device has the proximal pressure
line connected when you are
setting up an active ow circuit
type, remove the proximal
pressure line and cap the
proximal pressure port before
attaching to the exible tubing.
