Power Allocation
Power Limit Operation .....................................................................................96
Module Power Allocation................................................................................97
This chapter discusses the power allocation function.
For the majority of Agilent N6700 Modular Power System
configurations, full power is available from all installed power
modules. However, it is possible to configure a power system in
which the combined ratings of the power modules exceed the power
rating of the mainframe.
The power rating of Agilent N6700 mainframes is as follows:
Agilent N6700A/B = 400 W
Agilent N6701A = 600 W
Agilent N6702A @ nominal 100 - 120 VAC = 600 W
@ nominal 200 - 240 VAC = 1,200 W
Note that the power system will continue to operate normally as long
as the combined module output power is within the power rating of
the mainframe.
NOTE
The power allocation function is only available on power system mainframes
with firmware revision C.00.00 and up. To upgrade your power system with the
latest firmware revision, go to http://www.agilent.com/find/N6700firmware
.
If this firmware is not installed, the later higher-power modules will not be
recognized by the mainframe and a self-test error will result.
