Parameters
The Test Software uses entries that you make in the Test Parameters screen to
customize testing and configure the modem.
A special parameter allows you to run the Test Software in a demo mode, which is useful
for familiarization with the operation of the Test Set without connecting to any external
equipment (see “Demo (Demonstration) Mode” on page 108).
Most parameters may be entered two ways:
By loading and running the Test Software and entering all of the information in the
Test Configuration, Base Station Configuration, and Printer/Serial Port
Configuration menus, the Test Software automatically changes the test parameter
settings to match the configuration settings.
Parameters that cannot be set while the Test Software is running include:
"1. Adjust Power [0=no 1=on fail 2=always]" on page 110
"5. GN Code Domain Power Threshold" on page 111
"6. GN Print Inactive Walsh Codes [0=no 1=yes]" on page 111
"7. GN Stop Test if results fail [0=no 1=yes]" on page 111
"23. ZZZZ Test Demo Mode [0=normal 1=demo]" on page 114
By loading the Test Software and selecting the Parm Test Parameters field on the
SOFTWARE MENU screen, you may change the settings or any or all parameters
from the factory defaults.
This section lists the parameters and describes the use of each. For instructions on
changing the parameters and saving the changes on an SRAM card, see “Changing Test
Parameters” on page 95 and “Saving/Deleting a Procedure” on page 101.
1. Adjust Power [0=no 1=on fail 2=always]
This parameter specifies the manner in which power measurements will be made.
The settings have the following effects:
Select 0 to display power measurements whether those meet the specified
pass/fail limits or not. The power meter is not displayed.
Select 1 to display the adjustment power meter if the measured power is outside
the specified pass/fail limits. You may then adjust power to within the limits and
continue with testing.
Select 2 to display the adjustment power meter any time that power
measurements are made, whether the values are within the specified pass/fail
limits or not.
See Specification "6. Output Power Adjustment Error" on page 116 and
Specification "7. Output Power Error" on page 116 .
