Starting the Security Configurator for the First Time: Creating the First
ACG, Designating the MSC and Selecting Systems in the FC Network
Prerequisites
The Solaris SFS Driver is installed.
The HBAnyware and lputil utilities are installed.
The HBAnyware Security Configurator is installed.
All of the systems that are part of, or will be part of, the security configuration are online on the
Fibre Channel network. This enables the systems to receive updates and changes made to the
security configuration.
Procedure
Start the HBAnyware Security Configurator for the first time in an unsecure environment. The computer
from which you run the Security Configurator will become an MSC.
1. Run the /usr/sbin/hbanyware/ssc script. Type:
/usr/sbin/hbanyware/ssc
The” Unsecure System” message is displayed.:

2. Click OK on the Unsecure System message to have the systems with HBAs discovered. The
Discovery Window is displayed:

Caution: Any system that is part of the security installation, but offline when the Security
Configurator starts for the first time will not be available for security configuration
changes even if it is brought online while the Configurator is running.
Any system that is already part of the security installation might not run with the
proper security attributes if updates to the security configuration are made while it
is offline.
