1 Overview
The PATROL DashBoard product manages devices in a network and performs
statistics collection in SNMP, storing information in its object database, and
generating reports about the devices that it manages.
For large networks, you can combine several PATROL DashBoard servers under the
control of a PATROL DashBoard Corporate Edition module to provide the same
management strength.

Architecture
PATROL DashBoard has a Web-based client-server architecture. The server discovers
devices in the network, collects statistics by means of SNMP, stores information in its
object database, and generates reports about the managed devices. PATROL
DashBoard uses its own specially designed object database to ensure optimal
availability and compatibility with future versions. The general architecture is
illustrated in Figure 1 on page 22.
