You can limit access of users to specific domains by assigning only specific domains
to particular users.
Creating a New Domain or Subdomain
With PATROL DashBoard, you can create subdomains inside a domain with an
unlimited number of levels.
You can perform the same operations on a subdomain that are available for a domain.
Also, you can move a subdomain from one domain to another by using drag-and-
drop in the navigation tree.
To Create a Domain or Subdomain
1 In the Network portion of the navigation tree, right-click the root or the domain
under which you want to create a new domain.
2 Choose New => Domain.
The Domain Creation screen is displayed, as shown in Figure 25:

3 In Label, enter a name for the new domain, and then click Create Domain.
The new domain appears in the navigation tree, and the Domain Properties screen
appears. Go to “Managing Domain Properties” on page 143.
Assigning Devices to Domains
After discovery, the discovered objects are recorded and displayed under Generic
Discovery
or Router Discovery in the Discoveries portion of the navigation tree. You
must assign the objects to domains to organize them according to your needs and so
that they will be polled. After you have assigned objects to domains, you can move
them as necessary as your organization changes.
