Trends Report
Chapter 8 Generating Reports 263
Trends shows both short-term trends and long-term trends, as shown in
Figure 141:
Figure 141 Trends Section
— Short-term trend means that the trend was derived from a sample of data
collected over 15 days (2 weeks).
— Long-term trend means that the trend was derived from a sample of data
collected over 91 days (13 weeks).
Two special tables, Volume In and Volume Out, show the volumes and trends for the
Input and Output interface indicators per unit of volume. The units used are MB and
GB.
The Volume In and Volume Out are given for each device, for each domain, and for
the entire network, giving you an overview of the traffic on part or all of the network.
Three other special tables concern the use of the bandwidth on the devices’ interfaces,
DLCIs, VPs, VCs, and protocols. Input Utilization represents the percentage of input
utilization of the bandwidth (on interfaces, DLCIs, VPs, VCs, and protocols). Output
Utilization represents the percentage of output utilization of the bandwidth.
Utilization represents the percentage of utilization of the bandwidth for a protocol.
If the first line of the table is blue, the relative data results from the aggregation of the
other lines of the table.
The data inside a table is sorted according to the indicator’s daily value. The column
by which the data has been sorted is shown in orange.
NOTE
The percentage of rise (trends) as well as the absolute rise in MB for the indicator
(delta) are given per month.
