Measuring Response Time
Chapter 4 Discovering and Managing Objects 95
Creating a PETE
A PATROL End-to-End Response Timer peer (a PETE in this book) measures
response times in the following contexts:
A PATROL ETE robot (the PETE agent) executes a Windows script that uses the
Windows API to emulate a client/server application in which the PETE agent
(robot) is the client and the PETE peer is the server.
You execute an Internet recorded script that emulates Web-based transactions
from a browser connected to an e-business Web site.
To Create a PETE
1 In the navigation tree, right-click the Network root or the domain under which you
want to create the PETE.
2 Choose New => PETE.
The PETE Creation screen is displayed, as shown in Figure 34:

3 Enter the Agent Address or click Agents to select from the list of existing agents.
4 In Label, enter a name for the PETE.
5 Click OK.
New peers that are created on a PETE agent are automatically discovered. If you do
not want to discover these new peers, clear
Enable Discovery in their Properties
screen.
