Application Response Time
Application Throughput
Cells Dropped
Reported for peers on Cisco routers (with SAA), or PETEs
Description time for a Cisco router that has SAA or a PETE peer connected to an application
running on any server (such as HTTP, TCP, UDP, and so forth) to return a
response
The router must implement the RTTMON MIB (SAA agent). This indicator reflects
the response time that is seen by the user of the application.
Units milliseconds (ms)
Default
thresholds
minimum 500 ms–maximum 1,000 ms (1 second)
Points to check overloaded link, device, server, or application
Reported for peers on Cisco routers (with SAA), or PETEs
Description rate of transmission from a Cisco router (with SAA) or from a PETE peer
connected to an application running on any server (such as HTTP, TCP, UDP, and
so forth)
The router must implement the RTTMON MIB (SAA agent). This indicator reflects
the throughput that is seen by the user of the application.
Units Kbps
Default
thresholds
none
Points to check overloaded link, intermediate device, remote server, or application
Reported for VCs (virtual channels of ATM interfaces)
Description number of ATM cells dropped, compared to the total traffic on the VC
The calculation method accounts for OAM ATM cells.
Units percentage of ATM cells dropped
Default
thresholds
minimum 30%–maximum 50%
Points to check load of the corresponding VC compared with its available bandwidth
