The following items are located under the BMC Software banner:
■ Control Panel: (available only to the superuser) hyperlink that switches from the
PATROL DashBoard features to the Control Panel features (toggles between
Control Panel and DashBoard links)
■ User: displays the name of the current user
■ Log Off: hyperlink that logs off PATROL DashBoard
■ Help: hyperlink that accesses the online Help
Also, after you expand
DashBoard or the Control Panel in the navigation tree, a
question-mark icon appears in the top left corner of the right pane. Click this icon to
access context-sensitive Help topics.
The Control Panel
The Control Panel accesses the
■ Registration Center, for registering your product and obtaining an activation key
■ DataBase, for configuring the export of PATROL DashBoard data to a database
■ SNMP Traps, for configuring SNMP traps as notifications of threshold crossings
■ Backup, for configuring the backup of data
If you are logged on as superuser (logon ID su), you can click the
Control Panel link on
the main screen to display the Control Panel, as shown in Figure 8:
