ThiscommandenablesMultilinkPPPonan XSRinterface.MultilinkPPPoperatesoversingleor
multipleinterfacesthatareconfiguredtosupportbothDial‐on‐DemandrotarygroupsandPPP
encapsulation.Itappliestoasynchronousserialinterfaces,andISDNleased‐lineBasicRate
Interfaces(BRIs),andISDNPrimaryRateInterfaces(PRIs).
Thiscommandisassociatedwiththefollowingmultilinksub‐commands:

MultilinkPPPBAPisdesignedtomanagebandwidthofamultilinkbundle.BAPworksin
conjunctionwiththe
multilink load-threshold commandtoenableBandwidth‐on‐Demand
(BoD)whenbandwidthmustbeaddedorremovedontheXSR.
BAPnegotiateswiththepeertoaddordropalink,andcanrequestaphonenumberfroma
centralsiterepositoryusingthe
bap number default command.
Usethe
multilink load-thresholdcommandtoenableadialerinterface(dialerprofile)tobring
upadditionallinksandaddthemtoamultilinkbundle.Ifyouwantamultilinkbundletobe
connectedindefinitely,youmustsetaveryhighidletimer.
Syntax
ppp multilink {bap}
Syntax of the “no” Form
ThenoformofthiscommandnotonlyremovesmultilinkontheinterfacebutalsomultilinkBAP
ifitalsowasconfigured:
no ppp multilink {bap}
Note: BAP is employed on Dialer and ISDN lines only.
