policy-mapcommandtospecifythenameofthepolicymaptobecreated,addedto,or
modifiedbeforeyoucanconfigurepoliciesforclasseswhosematchcriteriaaredefinedinaclass
map.Invokingthe
policy-map commandenablesQoSPolicy‐Mapconfigurationmodeinwhich
youcanconfigureormodifytheclasspoliciesforthatpolicymap.
Youcanconfigureclasspoliciesinapolicymaponlyiftheclasseshavematchcriteriadefinedfor
them.Youusethe
class-map and match commandstoconfigurethematchcriteriaforaclass.
Youcanconfigureupto64classpoliciesinapolicymap.
Asinglepolicymapcanbeattachedtomultipleinterfacesconcurrently.Ifyouattem pttoattacha
policymaptoaninterfaceandavailablebandwidthontheinterfacecannotaccommodate
thetotal
bandwidthrequestedbyclasspoliciescomprisingthepolicymap,theinterfacebecomes
oversubscribed.Insuchacase,whenclassestrytosendwithalloftheirbandwidth,someclasses
maybeunabletotransmit.
Wheneveryoumodifyclasspolicyinanattachedpolicymap,CBWFQ isnotifiedandthe
new
classesareinstalledaspartofthepolicymapintheCBWFQsystem.
