For T3 controllers only
ThiscommandspecifiesthepeakallowablebandwidthusedbytheT3/E3port.DSUbandwidth
configurationmustmatchtheremoteconfigurationanditisimportantthatyouknowthe
bandwidthvaluesetontheremoteport.Forexample,ifyoureducethebandwidthto7,000kbps
onthelocalport,youmust
dothesameontheremoteport.Thiscommandreducesbandwidthby
paddingtheT3/E3frame.
ForE3portsinbypassframingmode,DSUbandwidthdefaultsto34,368kbps.
EventhoughtheXSRletsyouconfigureacontinuousrangeofbandwidthsinsub‐ratemodes,
vendorssupportbandwidthsonlyincertain
values.So,theXSRsetstheuser‐configured
bandwidthtotheclosestvendor‐supportedbandwidth(refertoTable2‐1)andamessage
displayedshowingthenewbandwidth.Usethe
show controller commandtoviewthe
vendor‐supportedbandwidththeXSRsets.

Note: DSU bandwidth is configurable only for an unchannelized T3/E3 port.
